Unwrap is built to be practical and privacy-respecting. This page is a short, plain-English overview of how we handle your data.
We collect the minimum needed to run the app. This includes account details if you create one, and usage data required to operate features like scan history and subscriptions.
Scan data is stored locally on your device by default. If you create an account, history is synced to our servers so you can access it across sessions.
We don't sell your personal data. We don't run third-party tracking for advertising. We don't serve ads.
We use Supabase for secure data storage and authentication, and RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. Both are privacy-focused infrastructure providers — they process data on our behalf and don't use it for their own purposes.
Product data comes from Open Food Facts, a free, open database of food products.
Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat. We don't store your payment details — that's handled entirely by Apple.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from within the app (Profile → delete account). This removes everything from our servers.
